The ministers simultaneously in 3 different colored chasubles is something I’ve never seen before. I don’t know that much about the “1954” liturgies and I have yet to find any other pictures of this. Can anyone explain?
To be honest, I think they simply didn't have a matching set, and did the best they could. Normally you're supposed to have matching items. Personally, I don't mind the effect here, it's rather exotic, but could be seen as a bit distracting.
Thank you for this lovely and useful post! I've been thinking that we need more of these "how-to's" on workarounds for the lack of Traditional liturgy. Especially as more and more people are coming to the conclusion that the NO is not feasible for them anymore, but lack the ability to reach a TLM.
Dr. K has done yeoman work here with his series on Mass attendance in a time of crisis and his analyses on the deficiencies of the NO. It would be so useful to also have concrete suggestions for dealing with the situation. For example: what constitutes a "Dry Mass"? (There are many formulae online, but they don't all agree.) How does one find a priest willing to come say a TLM for a group? How would they arrange a suitable setting and what supplies would they need? What are the restrictions on a visiting priest, re: faculties? And I'm sure others can think of more.
Thank you! The booklets are just exactly what I have been looking for.
The requirements for a private Mass put it out of reach, but thank you for the information.
There actually is a Mass within very reasonable driving distance in the nearest city but due to a combination of evening service time and an inability to drive after dark, it's not really feasible, so all this will be very helpful.
Thanks so much for recounting your reverent and deeply meaningful pilgrimage. I live on another continent, am old and not is such good health these days, so there is no possibility to attend such a pilgrimage or even to worship in an oratory conducted by any of the orders who celebrate the traditional rites of the church. Your experience and the way you have related it fills me with great hope for a future I’m not likely to experience myself. God bless you.
Thanks for a delightful post. The pre-55 Triduum looks wonderful and beautiful. I have not experienced this myself, and I don't think it is offered anywhere in Australia where I live, alas.
You’re most welcome! It is indeed full of both wonder and beauty.
I recommend calling each location that offers the old rite Mass in Australia and asking if they offer the pre-55 Holy Week liturgies, starting with those closest to you and fanning out from there, until one confirms that they do. You may be surprised to find them closer than you think!

Ah. That makes sense. Certainly exotic! Thank you!

Details, please, people.
Thank you, and you're right about the usefulness of such resources.
You'll find some good booklets for the "dry Mass" here:
https://onepeterfive.com/mass-canceled-pray-missal/
As for groups requesting a priest, I'd say the following:
1. The group has to be fairly large, as there just aren't many priests available to "do the rounds";
2. There needs to be no TLM within at least an hour's drive, if not more, as there are many groups that don't have one for 2-3 hours away or more;
3. There needs to be a suitable chapel for holding Mass.
Thank you! The booklets are just exactly what I have been looking for.

It can be hard to find, that's for sure. I believe it's done in Melbourne.
Impressive. May our Lord reward you and guide you in your devotions.
Thank you for reading and for your benediction! I share not to impress but to inspire others to join the great adventure.

Yes, I had this post pre-scheduled, and forgot to include it. But it's no big deal, as I will be "beating that drum" more than once hereafter!
