I’m 75, living in rural Victoria (Australia) married, a father of 5, grandfather of 11, retired and living a quiet life. Although we have practically no chance to attend the TLM your weekly summary fills me with hope and a sense of excitement for a future that I’m not likely to live to see. With all my heart I thank you!
Favor, please? Dr K, if you could please help spread the word about GiveSendGo, as a Christian--and also better--alternative to GoFundMe, which as you probably remember illegally withheld the donations from the Canadian Freedom Convoy (the truckers demonstrating in 2022)?
[Still angry enough about that to pass on many worthy causes because they come through GFM instead of GSG.]
No one disputes that there were bad popes in the past. So bad popes can exist. The fruits of Francis are obvious to those who have the courage to look at the truth.
I have read so many people say that Francis lied when he said, “The responses reveal a situation that preoccupies and saddens me, and persuades me of the need to intervene." However, it seems to me it’s the most honest thing he said. His bishops didn’t hate the TLM as he did, so he had to take matters into his own hands.
Right after that line, however, he sums up the responses this way:
"The pastoral objective of my Predecessors...has often been seriously disregarded. An opportunity offered by St. John Paul II and, with even greater magnanimity, by Benedict XVI, intended to recover the unity of an ecclesial body with diverse liturgical sensibilities, was exploited to widen the gaps, reinforce the divergences, and encourage disagreements that injure the Church, block her path, and expose her to the peril of division."
But that's the exact OPPOSITE of what most bishops said. So there's definitely dishonesty here.
Then he states outright:
"Responding to your requests [N.B.!], I take the firm decision to abrogate all the norms, instructions, permissions and customs that precede the present Motu proprio..."

God bless you, sir! Thank you for the good words.
Almost exactly what James said, but in rural central Texas.
The Roundup is one of the most anticipated parts of my week and we all deeply appreciate the time and effort that goes into it.

Certainly. The trouble is, most people just set up their fundraiser, and then it's a fait accompli...
American education is finally old enough to start having Senior moments!
In my home diocese of Gary, IN, St James the Less Catholic Church (Highland) borders the parish of St Thomas More Catholic Church.
I always laugh because it must terribly confuse Prots, to say nothing of everyone not Catholic (...and even regretfully probably some Catholics :/ )

the fruits of Pope Francis are obvious to those who have the stomach to look at the episcopacy

So you see why we say there is mendacity here.
Thank you for the clarification.
Great roundup, as usual!
Well then, I guess I'll just accept the blessing of sodomitical couples shall I? LOL! Um, no!
