The First Christmas — Audio Drama

In this Pelican+ Original Christmas Special, Nicholas Fernandez & Josh Canevari—creators of Martyrs and Miracle Men—retell the story of the very first Christmas with reverence, clarity, and wonder.

Follow the Holy Family as they undertake the long and difficult journey to Bethlehem in obedience to the Roman census, carrying with them the hopes of Israel and the quiet fulfillment of ancient prophecy. Against the darkness of a fallen world and the indifference of empire, the Son of God enters history not in splendor, but in humility.

He whom the whole world could not contain was contained in the womb of a woman. Born in the biting cold of a cave, laid upon straw, the Savior of mankind—the eternal Word through whom all things were made—takes on flesh and dwells among us. Shepherds are summoned from the fields, angels proclaim peace on earth, and heaven bends low to meet the world it came to redeem.

This audio drama invites you and your family to slow down and behold the mystery at the heart of Christmas: that the Creator of the universe chose poverty, obscurity, and love, that man might be restored. A story not merely remembered, but entered anew—calling hearts back to Bethlehem, and to the Child who is the very reason for the season.
